Yes. Sunhope is a direct PCB and PCBA manufacturer, not a trading-only company. Since 1993, we have built more than 30 years of experience in PCB fabrication and electronics assembly. From our approximately 15,000 m² manufacturing facility in Wenzhou, China, we support 1–8 layer PCB production together with SMT, THT/DIP and mixed-technology assembly. Your project is reviewed and supported by the teams responsible for engineering, manufacturing, quality and delivery.
PCB & PCBA Manufacturing FAQ
Every successful build begins with clear decisions. Explore practical answers on quotations, files, manufacturing, delivery and after-sales support.
Company & Compliance
Sunhope holds formal certifications covering ISO 9001 quality management, ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 45001 occupational health and safety, and IATF 16949 automotive quality management. We also hold UL certification and support applicable RoHS and REACH requirements through material and supply-chain controls. Together, these credentials support disciplined PCB and PCBA manufacturing across quality, responsible operations, product safety and environmental compliance.
Capabilities & Services
Within our 1–8 layer PCB scope, Sunhope manufactures single-sided, double-sided, multilayer, controlled-impedance, high-Tg and high-frequency PCBs. PCBA services cover SMT, THT/DIP and mixed-technology assembly for prototypes, pilot builds and volume production. Exact feasibility is confirmed against the design data, materials, component mix, process route and acceptance requirements for the project.
Yes. According to the agreed project scope, PCBA projects can incorporate component supply coordination, IC programming, automated conformal coating, customized potting, housing assembly, box-build integration, and project-defined ICT, flying-probe or functional testing. These value-added services are planned around the product design, application environment, test inputs, acceptance criteria and final delivery configuration before production release.
Quotes, Files & Orders
MOQ is project-specific rather than one fixed number across every PCB and PCBA service. Sunhope supports quick-turn prototypes, low-to-medium-volume trials and mass production, but the practical starting quantity depends on board construction, component supply, tooling, testing and delivery requirements. Share your target quantity—and, where useful, forecast or repeat-order volumes—so we can recommend an appropriate build route and quotation.
For a bare PCB quotation, provide the applicable Gerber and drill data, fabrication drawing, quantity, material, finished thickness, copper weight, surface finish, testing and delivery requirements, plus any project-specific notes; include a netlist when available. For PCBA, also provide a structured BOM with manufacturer part numbers, reference designators, quantities and footprints, together with pick-and-place data showing X/Y position, rotation and board side. Assembly drawings, DNP/DNI positions, supply responsibilities, programming files, test procedures and acceptance criteria should be included where applicable. Consistent revisions across these files help the engineering team review the project faster and more accurately.
We aim to respond to new inquiries within 12–24 hours. Straightforward bare-PCB inquiries can usually be assessed more quickly, while a detailed quotation for turnkey PCBA projects typically takes 3–5 days after the required files and commercial information are sufficiently complete. This allows our team to review the BOM, component availability, supply model, manufacturing processes and test requirements before preparing the quotation. If any essential information is missing or requires clarification, we will identify it during the initial review and keep you informed of the expected quotation schedule.
We follow a transparent, project-based pricing approach. Where applicable, the quotation will separately identify PCB fabrication, components, assembly, stencil or tooling, engineering preparation, testing, value-added processes, packaging and freight. For new design files, applicable one-time testing and engineering preparation fees will be clearly stated before order release. When a repeat order uses exactly the same released files and the previous manufacturing configuration remains valid and reusable, these one-time fees will not normally be charged again. However, each repeat order is still reviewed for revision status, quantity, material and component availability, process or test changes, and the condition or reusability of existing tooling. If any new or replacement charge is required, it will be explained and confirmed before the order proceeds.
Engineering & Supply Chain
We do not release production against unresolved assumptions. If fabrication data, drawings, BOM information, order notes or acceptance requirements conflict or remain unclear, the issue is documented and returned as an Engineering Query (EQ). The customer’s confirmed response and the applicable revision become part of the production-release baseline. Any later change affecting the approved configuration is reviewed and confirmed before implementation.
Yes. For turnkey and partial-turnkey projects, our procurement and engineering teams review component availability, lead time and lifecycle risk. If an alternative becomes necessary, compatibility with the electrical requirements, package or footprint and assembly process is evaluated, and the proposal is submitted for customer approval before use. No substitution is released merely because it is cheaper or locally available.
Yes. Sunhope supports full-turnkey, partial-turnkey and consigned material models. At project start, we agree which parts Sunhope will source, which parts the customer will provide, required labeling and packaging, expected attrition or spare quantities, and the disposition of unused materials. Return, continued storage or carry-over to a repeat build is handled according to the agreed order arrangement and the actual condition of the materials.
Lead Time, Shipping & Payment
Typical reference lead times are 3–7 working days for PCB prototyping and approximately 2–3 weeks for volume PCB production. For turnkey PCBA projects, the assembly stage typically takes 2–4 weeks after the production files have been released and all required components are available. These ranges are provided for project planning rather than as a universal guarantee. The final schedule may vary with board complexity, materials and stack-up, order quantity, engineering clarification, component availability, assembly processes, test requirements and current production capacity. Component sourcing and international shipping time should also be considered separately where applicable. Expedited schedules can be evaluated for urgent projects based on engineering feasibility, material readiness and available capacity.
Packaging is selected around the product type, surface finish, ESD or moisture sensitivity, geometry, quantity, destination and transport method. Bare PCBs may use sealed or vacuum moisture protection, desiccants and separators where appropriate. PCBAs may use ESD-protective inner packaging together with cushioning, edge or connector protection. Reinforced cartons, palletization and customer-defined labels are added when required by the shipment. The final packaging route is confirmed for the order rather than applied as one formula to every product.
For new customers and prototype orders, payment in advance is typically required. For volume orders or long-term partners, more flexible payment terms may be discussed after a period of successful cooperation. The final payment method, currency, deposit and balance arrangement will be stated in the formal quotation or pro forma invoice and confirmed before order release.
Quality, IP & After-Sales
We are prepared to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before detailed project files are shared. Customer Gerber files, BOMs, drawings, firmware or test inputs and commercial information are handled for quotation, engineering review, manufacturing, quality follow-up and the support agreed for the project. Access and use follow the relevant project responsibilities, while production proceeds only against the confirmed revision and approval path. If your company has specific confidentiality, retention or access-control requirements, state them before file transfer so they can be reviewed and agreed in writing.
Contact your project representative with the order number, product and revision, affected quantity, batch or label information, observed symptom, board location or reference designator, photographs or video, available test evidence and samples where possible. We connect the feedback to the relevant order and batch, define the potential scope, review applicable production, inspection and test records, and determine necessary containment actions while investigating contributing or root causes. Corrective or preventive follow-up—and an 8D or other formal report when required—follows the verified findings and agreed after-sales arrangement. Any commercial resolution is confirmed after the evidence and responsibility have been reviewed.
Our ERP and MES systems connect repeat orders with the approved project and manufacturing records. Once the NPI or prototype build has been approved, the released revision, BOM, relevant process parameters, machine programs, SOPs, inspection and test requirements, and production history are recorded and controlled within the system. Before each repeat build, our team verifies the current revision, material and component availability, approved changes, and the reusability of the previous manufacturing configuration. Where conditions remain unchanged, the approved records provide a controlled manufacturing baseline for the new order. Any change that may affect production or quality is reviewed and confirmed before release, supporting consistent and traceable repeat manufacturing.
